Motorcycle license classes have been rearranged with the new traffic law. Motorcycle use usually starts with small engine motorcycles and gradually progresses to more powerful engines. As you use and improve yourself, using motorcycles with larger engines and more powerful motorcycles is important for safety. Motorcycles can be very dangerous when used uncontrolled and without experience. Driving license classes have been arranged in this direction. Your first motorcycle experience will no longer be a racing motorcycle.
A driver candidate who wants to get a driver’s license at the age of 16 will be able to get a license for motorcycles with a maximum power of 15 horsepower and 125 cc, which are called small engines, or ATVs, which are 4-wheel motorcycles (Class B1). However, after the age of 18, he/she will be able to get an A2 license, which is a license that allows him/her to drive a motorcycle with up to 46 horsepower. If he/she wants to use more powerful engines, he/she can switch to a Class A motorcycle driver’s license after having an A2 license for 2 years.
In order to turn motorcycles from dangerous to enjoyable, it is necessary to be well-educated. The regulation made in the license classes aims to increase the experience criteria that a motorcycle driver must have by giving the licenses in stages. Motorcycle accidents mostly occur due to inexperienced drivers and uncontrolled speed. The concepts of balance and speed settle in our subconscious with long-term use of motorcycles and getting to know the motorcycle.

If you are getting your motorcycle driver’s license for the first time and are between the ages of 16-18, you can get a Class B1 ATV License or Class A1 license, if you are over the age of 18, you can get a Class A2 License and Class B1 ATV License. You can only get a Class A license after you have 2 years of A2 License experience or after you turn 24 without A2 experience.
If you are interested in powerful motorcycles and want to drive safely, we recommend that you get an A2 license as soon as possible, as 2 years of experience is required. If you are over 24 years old, you can directly get an A class license.
